That sound you heard was the Run Avril Run summer tour bus screaming by. We've just completed our craziest summer yet and the pedal is to the metal for fall as well! Tour stops included Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Canton, Youngstown and Orrville.
We were thrilled to participate in the 2008 MedWish Band-Aid Bash at The House of Blues Cleveland. MedWish International donates medical supplies to developing countries around the world. Visit our photo
gallery to see pics from the evening.
We will be playing a benefit for Skip Erb and his family on Friday, November 14th at The Boneyard in Mayfield Heights. Click
here for details.
Guys, New Year's Eve is right around the corner! You do not want to miss out on this party! Last year was the blowout of the year, and this year promises to be even better. We will once again be performing at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights. The food will be spectacular, the drinks will be flowing, and Run Avril Run will be rockin' da house all night long! We will be publishing details as we get them, so check back soon.
How excited are we to tell you that Avril will be singing the national anthem at the Indians' game on Friday June 27th? Needless to say, pretty excited. It's the kickoff to the annual Indians-Reds interleague series at Progressive Field. Be sure to get there early so you don't miss Avril belting out the national anthem!
Bust out the hoola hoops and the lawn darts, summer is ... probably just around the corner. It's hard to know
for sure here on the North Coast. For RAR that means lots of weddings and private parties, but also outdoor
performances for the entire family to enjoy. How psyched are we to kick off the summer at the
Cleveland Marathon Rock Party on May 18th. We'll be setting up at the corner of 9th and St. Clair and will be ready to rock at 11:30am.
We'll be at Legacy Village in Lyndhurst of Friday, June 20th at 7pm. This is an annual event that the little
RAR-ies love! Bring your lawn chairs, bring your kids, and bring your dancing flip-flops. Oh, and bring your
money cuz Legacy Village likes us more when you buy their stuff. But no big floppy hats this time. We know we
told you last year it was a good look for you, but ... well, we lied. It's called whimsey. We didn't expect
anyone to actually wear them. Any way, flowered shirts are all the rage now.
Speaking of annual events, we'll be back at the Beachwood Pool the very next Tuesday, June 24th. We're
confident we won't be unceremoniously rained out again this year. What's cool about this is anyone can come,
even non-members. Only members are allowed to swim but you can't hear us underwater any way, so you'll be good
bopping around the pool deck.
Check our
schedule for all upcoming dates.
As you newsletter readers already know...yes, the newsletter scooped the web
department on this one. See they're still bugged about that big old can o'
whoop-ass we opened on them on the softball diamond at last summer's company
picnic. We're collectively doing that finger snapping thing above our heads right now. Snap
left, snap right. We don't know what that's called.
So, anyway, as the newsletter ... ahem ... has already reported to
many of you, our drummer Rick has decided to leave RAR to pursue other
musical opportunities. Rick was with us for 2 years and played as our fill-
in drummer for a year before that. During Rick's tenure the band enjoyed
unequaled success and we are truly indebted to him for his contributions. If
you saw us when Rick was behind the kit, you saw him standing
on his drums, you saw him flipping his sticks in the air, and basically
lifting the spirits of everyone in the room. Thanks Rick. We took this
thing to a new level together and we'll miss you!
You didn't think we were going to continue without a drummer did you? This
is Run Avril Run here. You want to dance, right? We couldn't be more
excited to welcome our new drummer Efrain (pronounced: eh-fri-EEN). Too bad
the people at RAR Technologies don't know how to make a schwa symbol appear
on a web page. It would be perfect for that pronunciation key. Schwa would
be a great name for a band, btw. The logo would be easy. ANYWAY you can
call him 'E' if you want, but we suggest giving the actual pronunciation a
go.
Most importantly guys, dawg can PA-LAY! Checkout his
myspace page for some
samples. You're going to be blown out. Then grab your posse and get all-
y'all's butts out to a
performance and check it out live!
In case you couldn't tell, today's news update has been written in the Stream of Consciousness
literary style. 'Cuz that's just how we feel right now. Peace.
